As Lead Software Engineer, TECHNITION serves as the connecting element between project management, the customer-specific process design, and the executing programmers. The role of the Lead Software Engineer

Leading a software team within an industrial project requires both in-depth subject matter knowledge and strong communication skills. TECHNITION fills the role of Lead Engineer based on four pillars:

1. Architecture & Standardisation
Before a single line of code is written, TECHNITION lays the foundation.
  • Drafting the Functional Design (FS/FDS) and Software Design (SDS).
  • Defining the software architecture and modularity according to standards such as ISA-S88.
  • Ensuring that the team uses pre-defined (reusable) software libraries and clear programming guidelines.

3. Quality Assurance, Compliance & Validation
In critical environments such as pharmaceuticals (GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11) and the food industry, nothing can be left to chance.
  • Monitoring the project cycle via the V-Model: from specification to verification.
  • Drafting test protocols and leading the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test).
  • Ensuring that all delivered software complies with applicable (safety) standards and customer requirements.

4. Hub between Disciplines
A Lead Engineer speaks the language of all stakeholders.
  • Coordinating software interfaces with the disciplines of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Process Engineering.
  • Translating complex technical choices to the Project Manager or client.
  • Monitoring the software schedule and identifying risks or scope creep at an early stage.
